Many thanks for your nice little article from Industrial Design with the fascinating models. You might give some attention to trying to explain in terms of such a model -- or presumably defining the model -- so as to describe the phenomena observed by Professor Hammond of Cal Tech in his fundamental studies of the photochemistry of organic reactions. I don't have the references but you can surely find them.
